In Brazil there are many kinds of music. Brazilian music has originated from many
places.Brazilian music is a mixture of many cultures and people. The origins come from Portuguese, Indians and African people. Because of this mixture, some types of music have come out, like Modinha, Lundu, Samba, Batuque, Maxixe, Polka, MPB and Bossa Nova.
One of the most important kinds of Brazilian music is Bossa Nova which has its importance in our Brazilian culture. It inspired Jazz, and resulted as Samba. The most important poets of Bossa Nova were Vinicius de Morais and Tom Jobim
In the sixties, Bossa Nova criticized the social restriction of democracy liberty, with the movement known as MPB.
The musical instruments that are more used by Brazilian musicians are: flute, clarinet, piano, tambour, guitar, drums, boss, and percussion.
We think that our music is very good and everybody around the world has to listen to it. Some Brazilian musicians are known everywhere and we are very proud of them.
