Teenagers and Communication (as submitted to Planetary Magazine)

Nowadays, most teenagers think that the internet is the best way of communication. On the web , teenagers may find a lot of interesting things , at the same time they can make their own opinion about a subject. For example : teenagers approve the European currency, the Euro. They think it will organize the economy. My friends and I agree with them.
Another curiosity on the web is how teens feel about paying more tax for free education and social security. Well, as the expected, 88% said health care should be free, but they would happily pay more tax for social security, some of my friends (most part of them) do not agree, however I do.
The new teenagers (modern ones), who are obsessed about the internet, are called the “sunshine teens”. They suggest and discuss many actual subjects like the Sex education around the world. They say that the impact on pregnancy in Denmark and Holland were among the lowest in the world. In the United Kingdom, the impact hasn’t had the same effect, because UK girls were five times more likely to become pregnant .In Brazil the situation is even worst because people don’t have sexual education in school. In the whole group’s opinion , Brazil should make people more informed about Sex education so this problem can be solved.
As you see , communication is essential for our life. Within the communication we can see what’s going on in the world and try to make it better!!

How would you rate the emergency response efforts for Hurricane Katrina?

Options include:

A five; we're all doing all we can do

A four; People have really come together. Even if the rescue efforts were hampered a little, everyone is chipping in to help

A One; What else could they have done, given the conditions of the city?

A three; They tried hard, but factors outside of their control (looters, fires, chaos) slowed them down

A two; It was about what I expected would happen

A zero; why did President Bush wait so long to send troops? Why was there so much miscommunication among government officials?

Emergency Response? What emergency response? Government officials up through Bush should all be fired!

I'm just glad I wasn't there

If people had heeded the evacuation orders, everything would have been fine
